The Sourcing Engine Connector — Chrome Extension

1. What this extension does

The Sourcing Engine Connector is a Chrome extension built exclusively for authorised users of The Sourcing Engine platform. Its sole purpose is to read the li_at session cookie from your LinkedIn session in the current browser and securely transmit it to your own configured instance of The Sourcing Engine platform over HTTPS. This allows the platform to operate on your behalf without requiring you to manually copy and paste the cookie value.

2. Data collected

The extension accesses the following data:

LinkedIn session cookie (li_at) — read from your browser's cookie store for linkedin.com. This value is sent directly to your configured Sourcing Engine platform URL over HTTPS.
Platform URL and Extension Token — stored locally in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device only. These values are never transmitted to any third party.

3. How data is used

The li_at cookie is transmitted exclusively to the Sourcing Engine platform URL that you configure in the extension. It is used by the platform to authenticate requests on your behalf. The cookie is stored encrypted in the platform's database and is never shared with any third party, analytics service, or external system.

The extension does not:

Collect browsing history or any data from pages other than LinkedIn.
Send any data to servers other than your own configured platform URL.
Use analytics, tracking, or advertising services of any kind.
Access any LinkedIn data beyond the li_at session cookie.

4. Data storage

Configuration data (platform URL and extension token) is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data is not synced across devices and is not accessible to any website or third party. You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.

Required to interact with the current browser tab when the extension popup is opened.

6. Who can use this extension

This extension is intended exclusively for authorised users of The Sourcing Engine platform. It requires a valid Extension Token issued by a platform administrator. Without a valid token, the extension cannot transmit any data.
